Why am I running for a seat on the board of CIRA?

I am passionate about the Internet, especially in Canada. I live and breathe the Internet and technology.

I registered my first domain name in 1995 and have been dedicated to the Internet in Canada full-time (or longer, depending on whom you ask) since 2001, when I started working at Tucows/OpenSRS, a wholesale domain registrar. From 2007 to 2021 I ran my own business, DomainCocoon, which consulted registries, registrars, domain investors and aftermarket companies.

As of May 2021, I am the Product Manager for Domains at Web Hosting Canada, a top 10 .CA registrar based in Montréal, Québec, Canada.

Thank you for the chance to bring my passion for this Industry along to work with the rest of the CIRA board and employees and to help keep the internet growing, free (in the sense of freedom of expression, free from control within the limits of existing laws) and available to as many people as possible.
